Job Description

West Michigan International (WMI) and K&R Truck Sales are a locally owned group of companies serving West Michigan with five locations in Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Muskegon. As a full-service truck dealership, WMI and K&R Truck Sales offer comprehensive services including a robust service department, three complete body shops, parts delivery, mobile service trucks, towing, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. The company also provides truck sales, leasing, rental, and financing. The Truck Body Painter position is an opportunity to join a supportive, family-owned business with a focus on quality workmanship and career growth. This role is responsible for refinishing and restoring truck bodies and parts to factory and dealership standards, working as part of a collaborative team in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect body work for quality and completeness upon arrival in the paint department.
  • Mix, color match, and refinish vehicles and parts to restore them to pre-accident condition.
  • Complete all refinish operations as outlined in work orders, ensuring adherence to dealership and factory standards.
  • Manage and maintain paint material inventory efficiently.
  • Consistently use required safety equipment and properly dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and collaborate with team members to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with the shop floor advisor regarding additional services needed for customers.
  • Assist in estimating time required for refinishing when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the heavy-duty truck market is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
